The event marked the first time in over four years that a major motorsport event was held at the Mile. The fan friendly Vintage Indy paddock featured a 220 foot tent dressed in a festive manner with event flags, and housed 22 cars ranging in era from the mid 1920s through 1998. Entrants came from as far away as California, Virginia, Connecticut, and even Queensland, Australia, in the form of Doug Partington with his Wikner Ford Special. The event's title sponsor was Cole Publishing's ReinCARnation magazine. The Vintage Indy Registry™ thanks publisher Bob Kendall for his generous sponsorship. Five time Indianapolis 500 veteran John Martin was not only behind the wheel of the 1986 Corvette Pace Car throughout the weekend, but also suited up for a few laps in Rich and Brenda Rowland's restored 1979 Penske PC-7 Genesee Beer Wagon Special, much to the resounding applause of the fans. Darren Jack's Hall of Fame Collection, with Kettle Moraine Preservation and Restoration, hosted a dinner gathering featuring prime rib, with close to one hundred attending, at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield on Saturday evening. Greenwood, Indiana's Dr. Robert Dicks
received the
Champions Wear Bell Helmet award at the dinner.
